Manawatū: Researcher Development: Research Data Management Basics In-Person
Audience: PhD students and Masters thesis students.
In this workshop you will:
- Gain an understanding of the research data management landscape, and how good practices support your research;
- Understand some practical aspects of looking after data including what you need to do to securely store, make sense of, and maintain access to your data;
- Identify 3 important things you need to do to kick start your own data management plan.
This principles-based, hands-on workshop is aimed at all PhD candidates wanting to learn the basics of managing research data effectively and efficiently during research projects. The PhD/Higher Research Degree Programme at Massey University identifies this workshop as a highly recommended development opportunity for early stage researchers.
During the workshop we will use presented content, discussions and exercises to explore key data management topics including planning, organising, storage & backup, and documentation. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
