Bagnall (New Zealand Research) Collection Open Day

Bagnall (New Zealand Research) Collection Open Day In-Person

The library’s closed access New Zealand Research Collection, known as the Bagnall Collection, is opening its doors in the Manawatū Campus Library on Wednesday 14 August from 11-1pm.

Named after  A.G. Bagnall, ex-Chief Librarian of the Alexander Turnbull Library, noted bibliophile, author and historian whose personal library forms the basis of the collection, the Bagnall collection houses many rare and valuable items. While these are all searchable online, it’s often through browsing a collection that items make themselves known to the researcher.

Some of these items will be on display, along with items from our Rare Books collection, including two manuscripts dating from the fifteenth century and the early 1600s.

Come along to our open session and enjoy the opportunity to browse some of the library’s most interesting items.

Please call at the Manawatū Library Service Point for directions to this event.

For enquiries please contact Dr Pauline Knuckey, Special Collections Librarian p.m.knuckey@massey.ac.nz
